Ban on Plastic Bags, Utensils, and Food Serviceware Temporarily Suspended

The Mayor, with input from the City Council, has decided to temporarily suspend enforcement of the City’s plastic bag ban during the COVID-19 health crisis.

With action taken by the Gig Harbor Mayor, our city is temporarily suspending enforcement of the plastic bag and utensil ban (Ordinances #1398 and #1399), effective immediately.

UPDATED - All City Meetings will be Conducted Remotely through June 17th

In compliance with Proclamation 20-28 from Governor Inslee, all City meetings will be conducted remotely through June 17th. No in-person attendance will be allowed by the public or meeting participants.

UPDATED - Civic Center Closed to Public

The Civic Center is closed until June 22nd to outside public and private agencies and groups.

We will assess this closure and make a decision on whether to extend the closure by Friday, June 19th.  City staff will still be available via phone and email. The main phone number to City Hall is: (253) 851-8136.
