ANCICH PARK AND NETSHED REHABILITATION

PROJECT UPDATE 12/20/2017

Work in Progress:

The City’s contractor, Quigg Brothers Construction, mobilized onsite 12/4/17. The contractor has staged equipment and materials and the site will now be closed to public access for the duration of the project.

Quigg Brothers crews installed erosion control measures in preparation of excavation for the new sea walls that will be placed at the shoreline. They also cleaned out the old debris from inside the Ancich net shed and pier and from the Jerkovich pier. The support structure and bracing on the inside of the Ancich net shed was installed prior to moving the structure. On December 20th, Quigg lifted the Ancich net shed off of the old pier and placed it on a barge where it will be rehabilitated. For the next couple of weeks, the old Ancich and Jerkovich piers will be demolished and hauled off site for disposal. The old pile bulk head will be removed and the new sea walls will be constructed.

Impacts to the Public:

The parking stalls in front of the site will be closed for the duration of the project. Pedestrian foot traffic is now being detoured around the site as well.

Some of the excavation for the new sea wall footings will need to be performed during the low tide cycle. During this time of the year the low tide cycles are at night or in the early morning so the City is anticipating some night work to occur. During this work you may experience construction sounds such as engine noise from excavation equipment and back-up alarms. When the City knows the exact dates of this night work, we will inform the public of the dates and times.

Thank you for your understanding.
